Your role
As Group Controller you play an essential part of Urban Gym Group’s finance team, taking responsibility and ownership for the implementation of appropriate policies, reports, and processes to ensure an effective control environment; providing key strategic information to the management team and board to inform decision making and drive business performance. You bring strong leadership skills, proactively coach your team members, and have a strong eye for talent development. You report to the CFO. Given the growth of our company, this position has the potential to grow into Finance Director.
Key tasks
- Financial Planning and Analysis: developing financial models and forecasts to support. strategic decision making, identifying risks and opportunities, and tracking financial performance against targets;
- Financial Reporting and Compliance: ensuring that financial reports and statements are accurate, complete, and compliant with accounting principles, legal and regulatory requirements, and internal policies and procedures;
- Budgeting and Cost Control: managing the budgeting process, setting financial and non financial targets, monitoring performance, and identifying cost savings opportunities;
- Cash Flow Management: managing cash flow, optimizing working capital, and ensuring that the group has sufficient liquidity to meet its obligations;
- Internal Controls: establishing and maintaining internal controls to mitigate financial risks, ensure the integrity of financial data, and safeguard company assets;
- Team Management: Building and leading a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support, and ensuring that they have the skills and resources to meet their goals;
- Support CFO with regards to M&A.
Your background
- Academic background in (business) finance, postmaster RC/RA is a pre;
- Min of 10 year’s experience in a senior finance role;
- Proven experience in managing and developing teams;
- Experience in a fast-growing scale up environment / entrepreneurial setting.
